To achieve his unusual streetwise feel, Heat was filmed entirely on location in Los Angeles. It was very important to director Michael Mann that there exist a heightened naturalism to the look of the film, so under Mann's direction, Heat was shot on location at this Bob's on April 17-18, 1995.
